With temperatures in the 60’s on Saturday, break out the tackle box and fishing pole. Nebraska Game and Parks Commission spokesman Greg Wagner says starting at 7 am on Saturday, Two Rivers State Recreation Area in Nebraska officially opens for trout fishing. He says the lake is stocked with 12,000 rainbow trout that are 11 to 13 inches long.
Each trout tag is $4 and with each tag limiting four fish. Three tags can be purchased each day so twelve fish is the total bag limit. Each tag also covers two children under the age of 16 but the fish limit remains the same.
The trout lake at Two Rivers State Recreation Area is open from 7 a.m. to sunset, seven days a week. Wagner says the trout are easy to catch and no fancy gear is needed.
Two Rivers State Recreation Area is located south of Waterloo.
