Taylor Anderson, the son of former Nebraska baseball coach Mike Anderson, hit a game tying single in the eighth inning and Northern Colorado tacked on three more runs to gain a split in the mid-week two games series in Lincoln by beating the Huskers 6-4, Wednesday afternoon.
The Huskers took the lead in the bottom of the sixth on a two-run pinch-hit home run from Pat Kelly to go up 3-2. Kelly’s third home run his in past five games came after a one-out double from Kash Kalkowski. Kelly leads the team with a .457 batting average (16-for-39), while producing three doubles, one triple, three home runs and 12 RBI’s on the year.
Nebraska starts Big Ten play this weekend, when they host Illinois.
