One week after after heart surgery a member of the Nebraska legislature has begun his road to recovery.
District 33 State Sen. Les Seiler is back home now following triple-bypass heart surgery and his doctors say he’s doing exceptionally well.
Seiler underwent the surgery at the Nebraska Heart Institute last week. There were no complications from the surgery and Senator Seiler is considered to be in excellent condition post-surgery.
Seiler said this morning in a written statement: “As I regain my strength I plan to be at the Nebraska Legislature no sooner than 2-3 weeks, but I realize my recovery is very important,” Seiler said.
“My office will remain open and I will be meeting with staff regularly and constituents are more than welcome to continue contacting my office during this time.”
Seiler will be monitored at his residence in Lincoln, where he is staying during his recovery.
