The Husker baseball team came into this weekend series against Northwestern scoring over 8 runs per game, which was fourth in the nation and ranked 7th in batting average at .329, but the Huskers hit .255 as a team and averaged just four runs a game this week as they lost two of three to Northwestern.
That batting average was actually .197 after Friday’s 7-4 win. Northwestern pitchers limited NU to 13 of 36 at the plate in wins on Saturday and Sunday over the Huskers. Nebraska lost 8-4 and 6-1.
The Huskers will be back in action on Tuesday night when they travel to Manhattan, Kan., to face the Kansas State Wildcats. NU will look to sweep the season series with the Wildcats after winning the first two meetings of the year, both at Hawks Field
