Nebraska sophomore pitcher Jon Keller threw a career-high eight-plus innings to lead the Nebraska baseball team (23-12, 5-4 Big Ten) to its third straight win on Tuesday night in a 5-3 final over the Creighton Bluejays. Keller improved to 4-1 on the year, as he gave up just two runs (one earned) on three hits, while striking out six.
Keller took the mound to start the ninth inning, but issued a leadoff walk to Nick Judkins and was pulled. The last complete game came from Tom Lemke in 2010. Travis Huber came in and gave up three straight hits, but bounced back with a strikeout and a game-ending double play to secure the Huskers’ 23rd win of the season.
