Lavonte David was the first Nebraska player taken in the 2012 NFL draft, going to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the second round with the No. 58 pick.
David is the first Husker linebacker to be taken in the second round since Barrett Ruud went to this same Tampa Bay team with the No. 36 overall pick in 2005.
Defensive tackle Jared Crick and cornerback Alfonzo Dennard could also go in this second and third round, but Dennard’s draft stock may have dropped following last weekend’s arrest for punching a Lincoln police officer and resisting arrest.
