Creighton men’s soccer defender/midfielder Eric Miller has been called up by the U.S. U-20 National Team for a training camp in Houston and a series of upcoming international friendlies against Uruguay (June 6, June 8) and Chile (June 12).
Miller is one of 20 players called into camp by head coach Tab Ramos. Miller has participated in each of the three previous training camps for the U.S. U-20 National Team in 2012. While on national team duty, he will miss four Portland Timbers U-23s (his summer team) matches and is scheduled to return to Portland on June 13.
Miller had an impressive freshman season for Creighton in 2011, playing a key part in the team’s run to the NCAA College Cup semifinals. He helped anchor Creighton’s backline that allowed just five goals last season, and was named to both the Missouri Valley Conference All-Freshman Team as well as to the all-freshman team by College Soccer News.
