Ryan Sheldon pitched eight shutout innings as the Lincoln Saltdogs (12-15) survived the ninth for a 5-2 victory over the Goldeyes (18-7) in front of 7,015 fans at Shaw Park in Winnipeg Wednesday afternoon. Sheldon (3-1) went eight, allowing no runs on six hits while striking out four and walking two to earn the victory.
After a couple walks, a couple hits and an error, Winnipeg scratched two runs across and got the possible tying run on base in the bottom of the ninth inning before P.J. Zocchi struck out David Naradowski looking to end the game and earn his sixth save.
Jared McDonald went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a run and two RBI. Tommy Collaro went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI, and A.J. Miller drove in a pair as well.
