Baseball meets swimming in downtown Omaha Monday night. Omaha is in the national sports spotlight tonight as an estimated 40-thousand people are expected to attend game two of the College World Series Championship and the U-S Olympic Swim trials taking place just blocks away from each other.
Omaha Police are used to large events at T-D Ameritrade Ballpark and the Century Link Center but with two huge events on the same night brings traffic control and security to a whole new level. Fans can expect to see a lot of law enforcement on the streets near both venues Monday evening.
Fans who don’t want to tackle the traffic near the Century Link and T-D Ameritrade can park at Mutual of Omaha parking lots free of charge. Six shuttles will run about every 10 minutes from Mutual to the Century Link Center from 5 pm until 7 and again from 8 until 10 pm.
Fans of both the CWS and the swim trials are urged to arrive early for Monday night’s events.
Mutual of Omaha is located at 33rd and Dodge Street in Omaha. A reminder to visitors… no left turns are allowed on Dodge Street. There are several turning loops available along Dodge driver’s access using the right lane of traffic.
