Tony Abreu scored the game-winning run on an error in the ninth inning as Omaha stormed back from a six-run hole to stun Oklahoma City, 7-6. The Storm Chasers won their second straight to improve to 65-45 on the season and lower their magic number to 19 for clinching the division title.
Derrick Robinson led off the ninth with a pinch-hit single, advanced to second on an Irving Falu sacrifice bunt and moved to third base on a Johnny Giavotella ground out. Abreu then hit a two-hopper back through the middle that was knocked down by OKC pitcher Mickey Storey, who hurried the throw and bounced it in the dirt before it was scooped up too late by Mike Hessman, allowing Robinson to cross the plate to break the tie. It was Omaha’s ninth win in 15 games against the RedHawks this season.
