A Little League team from Kearney, Nebraska was eliminated from the World Series after losing their second game, a 12-0 final, to a team from Connecticut. Nebraska manager Brad Wegner hopes to get his team refocused in order to leave South Williamsport with a win in Monday’s consolation game. “They’ve had a great time, but they’re hugely disappointed,” Wegner said. “It’s been an awesome experience.”
13 year old Matt Kubel struck out six over 4.2 innings, to pick up the win. Nebraska ran into very tough pitching in their first two games, perhaps a level they haven’t seen in the past, but nonetheless a great run to represent the Midwest region of the U.S.
