Former Husker and second-team All-American Jenny Kropp and partner Whitney Pavlik won the Manhattan Beach Open (21-17, 21-16) on Sunday, defeating the team of Brooke Sweat and Jennifer Fopma to remain undefeated on the year. Kropp tallied 12 kills and 12 blocks, while Pavlik had 12 kills and three aces in the championship match.
Prior to the match, Kropp-Pavlik defeated Nicole Branagh and Brittany Hochevar (21-16, 21-11) and Lauren Fendrick and Rachel Scott (21-15, 21-16).
A middle blocker at Nebraska, Kropp earned second-team All-America honors in 2001 and also tallied All-Region accolades in 2000 and 2001. She ranks fifth all-time on the Nebraska career records list for block assists and is seventh on Nebraska’s total blocks list.
