Total enrollment at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln has dropped slightly.
The Office of Institutional Research and Planning reports fall enrollment at 24,207, a drop of 1.6% from last fall.
Despite the slight decrease, several colleges saw growth. Enrollment in Business Administration increased by 4.5%; the Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources Department increased by 3.7%; and Journalism and Mass Communications enrollment grew by 3.8%.
Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts saw a 26.8% increase in its number of graduate students. Enrollment in professional programs, doctor of plant health grew by more than 22%.
The University of Nebraska system earlier announced that total enrollment basically held steady this year, with 50,180 students on the four campuses plus the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture, a 0.4% decrease compared to fall 2011.
