Three staff members with the Maxwell Public School District have been charged with failing to report child abuse in connection with an investigation into alleged sexual abuse at Maxwell High School.
The Nebraska State Patrol in conjunction with the Lincoln County Attorney’s Office and the Nebraska Health and Human Services Department is investigating allegations that a number of Maxwell High School students have been sexually assaulted. The patrol reports it launched an investigation in April after allegations surfaced that a student on the Maxwell wrestling team was sexually assaulted.
The patrol has charged 61-year-old Danny Twarling of North Platte, 47-year-old Aubrey Boucher of Maxwell and 35-year-old Ryan Jones of North Platte with failure to make a report of child abuse or neglect, a misdemeanor.
“This remains a very active investigation,” said Lt. Lynn Williams, Troop D- North Platte, in a written statement released by NSP. “There is potential for more victims and additional arrests or citations.”
The public is asked to contact Troop D Headquarters at 308-535-8047 with any information that might aid in the investigation.
