Chadron State turned in a solid defensive effort, forcing four turnovers in picking up their first win of the season, 19-7 over Angelo State in a non-conference game.
The Eagles put together drives 51 and 56 yards in the second quarter to build a 13-0 halftime lead, and after Angelo State score midway in the third, the Eagles responded by recovering a Rams’ fumble and converted it into a touchdown.
Chadron State recovered two more Angelo State fumbles in the fourth quarter when it had the ball 12 minutes. Chadron’s Glen Clinton was the game’s leading rusher with 17 carries for 117 yards. John McLain completed 13 of 21 passes for 93 yards.
