Emporia State scored the first 24 points in a 58-35 win over Nebraska-Kearney, as the Loper fall to 0-2 in their new MIAA conference. Emporia State scored more than 40 points in their first two games for the first time in school history as they earned a 58-35 victory on the road at Nebraska-Kearney. The Hornets led 41-22 as the game went to halftime and recorded 501 yards of total offense.
Not only did the pass happy Hornets click all day offensively, but they also scored two defensive touchdowns.
