Bo Pelini announced a roster move at the end of Wednesday’s practice saying that defensive lineman Chase Rome was no longer on the team. Rome’s exit comes after the Cornhuskers’ defensive line played poorly in the loss at UCLA. Pelini said early in the week that personnel changes were being considered at several positions. Apparently, Rome out of the lineup was one of those changes.
Sophomore WR Tyler Wullenwaber from Utica, Nebraska tore his ACL. Receivers coach Rich Fisher has some depth at that position and as far as Brion Carnes getting playing, who just announced a position switch from QB to WR, that seems highly unlikely.

Another receiver, whose name is certainly in the mix is true freshman Jordan Westerkamp. He came to Nebraska as Illinois’ all-time leader in receptions (235), receiving yards (4,618) and receiving touchdowns (68). He’s caught the eye of coaches, but that doesn’t necessarily mean Fisher is going to burn his red shirt.
