Dave Cornthwaite did a “swim by” of Omaha today. The British adventurer is swimming down the Missouri River. He started August 10th in South Dakota and hopes to make it to his destination of St. Louis sometime in October.
Cornthwaite is on a mission he calls Expedition 1000. His goal is to complete 25, 1,000-mile trips without using a motor of any kind.
Cornthwaite says as he gets further downstream the Missouri River muddier and he is seeing more dead fish along the banks. He is traveling with a seven member support team to insure his safety.
This is Cornthwaite’s 7th adventure. So far he has paddle boarded down the Mississippi River and skateboarded across Australia. All of his journeys raise money for charity.
