The Nebraska State College System (NSCS) announced that a Notice of Allegations has been issued following an investigation by Chadron State College (CSC) and the NCAA enforcement staff regarding the football program at CSC. The Notice of Allegations was expected and follows the submission of CSC’s self report in July.
Chadron State College will review the allegations in order and submit a written response to the Notice of Allegations. The response to the NCAA is due by December 17, 2012. A hearing by the Committee on Infractions is tentatively scheduled during its meeting on February 22-24, 2013. At that time, representatives from Chadron State will appear before the committee to present an institutional response to the Notice of Allegations.
NSCS Chancellor Stan Carpenter stated that we will continue to cooperate with the NCAA to resolve this matter. “I am confident in the new leadership of the football program at Chadron. Coach Jay Long and we will restore Chadron’s good standing with the NCAA and continue the football program’s strong tradition of success.”
The report alleges potential violations which were identified during the inquiry into the athletic policies and practices of the football program. Following an internal review of the material, the Notice of Allegations should be available online at the Nebraska State College system website:
