A new report from the U.S. Census Bureau finds Nebraska is bucking the national trend when it comes to household income.
The report says median income rose last year in Nebraska to just under $50,300. That’s an increase from the year before of a little over 1%.
While that may not sound like much, the national median income fell about the same amount.
Nebraska’s among only 13 states that saw a rise in the figure.
One analyst credits the state ag industry for helping to sustain Nebraska through the past few years of economic uncertainty, along with the state’s relatively low jobless rate.
