The Nebraska State Patrol reports that troopers seized 188 lbs. of marijuana during two separate traffic stops over the weekend.
Late Sunday morning, a trooper stopped an eastbound pick-up for speeding, three miles west of Kearney on Interstate 80. The trooper found 83 lbs. of marijuana in three suitcases both in the cab and the bed of the pick-up.
The driver, 26-year-old Neftali Gutierrez Barajas of Mexico has been charged with intent to sell marijuana and has been jailed in Buffalo County.
Earlier in the weekend, a trooper stopped an eastbound SUV for speeding on Interstate 76, four miles west of Big Springs. The trooper found 105 lbs. of marijuana in two duffle bags in the trunk of the vehicle.
The driver, 50-year-old Sylvester Cage of Plymouth, MN has been charged with intent to sell marijuana and now is in the Deuel County Jail.
