The girls golf state championships wrapped up on Tuesday at Norfolk Country Club. Norfolk took the Class A team title by 12 shot over Lincoln Pius X. Grand Island placed third. In Class B at Mahoney Golf Course, Elkhorn South ran away with the championship by 35 strokes over McCook. Scottsbluff finished third. Class C at Quail Run. Grand Island Central Catholic trailed by four strokes but rallied for a five stroke win over Ogallala. Norfolk Catholic grabbed third.
Sarah Pravecek of Omaha Marian is the Class A individual champ shooting 10 over. Kaylee Samway of McCook was the only golfer under par in all three classes. She shot one under for the Class B title. McKenna Kime of Grand Island Central Catholic shot par on the first playoff hole to win the Class C individual title over Maaika Mestl of Ogallala.
