Early voting is setting new records across the state.
Secretary of State John Gale says that Nebraskans are obviously very engaged in this election. He says there are two very different perspectives as well in the Senate race between Republican Deb Fischer and Democrat Bob Kerrey.
“People are paying attention”. Gale says.
Gale says nearly 20,000 voters requested early ballots in Lancaster County alone. He says that could increase to well over 30,000, which was the total four years ago.
Douglas and Sarpy Counties, the two other larger counties in Nebraska, report an increase as well.
Gale says the new records in early voting could translate into a high turnout overall.
