A Nebraska group is ready to answer the call to help the victims of Hurricane Sandy. Kelly Jo Yaksich with Kids Against Hunger in Nebraska says they are in the process of collection money to purchase items to send to New Jersey that will be used by the victims of the storm.
Yaksich says they hope to be able to fill a semi with sport drinks, bottled water, diapers, baby formula and cleaning supplies. The also plan to pack 50-thousand meals to send to the victims.
Yaksich says volunteers will be needed on November 10th when they gather at Johnstone Supply in Omaha to make the meals and load the semi for departure. She says money raised through donations will be used to purchase those needed items as well as pay for the semi to transport them.
