The Nebraska-Kearney volleyball team is in the NCAA Tournament for a 14th straight season and will battle MIAA rival Washburn in the first round of the Central Regional on Thursday, November 29th, in St. Paul, Minn. Wayne State College earned an eighth straight trip by earning an at-large bid as the eighth seed and will travel to face Concordia-St. Paul. The Central is far and away the best as it features five-time defending national champ Concordia-St. Paul and six other Top 16 squads.
The Lopers (33-2) are the third-seed and have beaten the sixth-seeded Lady Blues (31-3) twice this year, 3-0 and 3-2. The UNK/WU winner takes on either SW Minnesota State or MIAA -member Truman State in the second round. Wayne State finished the regular season with a 22-9 record and was fourth in the Northern Sun Conference with a 14-6 league record. WSC and CU met once in the regular season with the Golden Bears scoring a 3-0 win over the Wildcats in Wayne on October 26th.
