A young Bartley man has been sentenced to life in prison for killing a 14-year-old McCook girl and discarding her burned body at a cemetery.
The McCook Daily Gazette reports that 20-year-old Stathis Kirkpatrick received the mandatory sentence of life after pleading no contest to first degree murder.
Kirkpatrick was convicted of killing Kailee Clapp who was reported missing in late January of last year. Her burned body was found in a cemetery in Bartley.
Kirkpatrick first was found incompetent to stand trial, but later declared mentally fit.
