Senior guard Amry Shelby moved into eighth place on the all-time scoring list at Wayne State College by scoring a team-high 14 points as Wayne State College resumed play from the holiday break with a 72-52 non-conference men’s basketball win over Grace University Monday afternoon at Rice Auditorium in Wayne. The Wildcats are now 7-4 with the win while the visiting Royals drop to 6-10 on the season.
Shelby led WSC with 14 points and went from 11th to eighth on the WSC all-time scoring list. The Marion, Iowa native now has 1,369 points and passed Dean Elofson (1,358 points from 1966-70), Todd Klostermann (1,365 points from 2000-05) and Craig Philipp (1,368 points from 1994-98) to move into the top 10 all-time in Wildcat scoring.
Sophomore forward Jordan Spencer recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 23 points and 11 rebounds to power #19 Wayne State College in an 85-47 non-conference women’s basketball win Monday afternoon over Chadron State College at Rice Auditorium in Wayne. The host Wildcats improve to 7-2 with the win while dropping the visiting Eagles to a 1-9 mark. It was also the 52nd straight win at Rice Auditorium for the Wildcats.
