Troopers seized nearly 60 pounds of marijuana in two traffic stops this weekend.
A trooper stopped a car for speeding eastbound on I-80 near the Lincoln Airport Exit. A dog-sniffing dog led troopers to 33 pounds of marijuana stuffed into two duffel bags in the trunk of the car.
The 23-year-old driver, Hui Yuan Chen of Oakland, CA, has been charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
Earlier in the weekend, another trooper stopped a car eastbound on I-80 in Lincoln County for speeding. When the trooper thought he smelled marijuana, he found 15 packages wrapped in Christmas paper in the trunk that contained 25-and-a-half pounds of marijuana.
The driver, 25-year-old Robert McLeod, and a passenger, 28-year-old Benjamin Whitted, both from Florida has been charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
