Earlier this month, ESPN televised the College Football Awards Show. 22 players were named to the Good Works Team as voted on by the American Football Coaches Association. Nebraska running back Rex Burkhead was named the captain of that team, and we know how involved he is in the community with all of the charitable work he does. Burkhead recorded a message that was played during that television broadcast.

I saw an interesting article in the Omaha World Herald and history shows, since the 1998 season, 16 of the 53 teams favored by 10 points or more in their bowl game have lost. Nebraska’s been involved in a couple games like that including the Huskers upset Michigan in the 2005 Alamo Bowl, and a lost to Washington in the Holiday Bowl two years ago. After a 56-21 win in week three, the Huskers then lost to the Huskies 19-7. Georgia comes into the Capital One Bowl listed at 10 point favorites.
