A gold coin was found in a Salvation Army Red Kettle at Hobby Lobby, 173rd & Maple. The 1/10 oz. United States gold Eagle coin is worth an approximately $170.00 at this time, according to North Omaha Corps Officer, Lt. Pamela Kasten.
This is the second valuable coin found in a Salvation Army red kettle this season in Omaha. On December 3rd someone donated a 2006 gold Yuan worth about $120.
As of December 11, more than $1.647 million has been donated to the campaign. Bell ringers will be out until December 24th.
