The snowstorm cutting across Nebraska has forced the closing of a portion of I-80.
The Nebraska State Patrol reports that blowing snow has reduced visibility and created treacherous driving conditions in west-central Nebraska.
At 6pm, the Nebraska Department of Roads closed Interstate 80 eastbound at the Ogallala exit (mm126) and westbound at the Kearney exit (mm272).
The patrol cautions that extremely dangerous weather conditions are forecast through the overnight hours across much of Nebraska. Travel is not recommended.
