Nebraska has managed to grab the lead heading into the half with a 24-23 edge over Georgia. The Huskers ended the first half with a 16 yard touchdown pass from Taylor Martinez to Rex Burkhead, which followed a 39 yard field goal from Brett Maher.
The Huskers showed poised after Georgia went up 24-14 on a 24 yard touchdown run from Todd Gurley. That was set up by a third down run by quarterback Aaron Murray after the Bulldogs started a drive at the NU 38 yard line following Martinez’ 11 interception of the season.
The teams have combined for 576 yards in the first half. Martinez is 11 for 15 for 168 yards with two TDs and an interception. Burkhead is averaging 7.7 yards per carry on nine tries. He also has a team high four catches. Tight end Ben Cotton has two catches for 69 yards.
Murray is 11 of 23 for 195 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. Todd Gurley has rushed for 81 yards on 10 attempts.
