Big plays on offense, defense and special teams led to a wild opening quarter of the Capital One Bowl with Georgia leading the Huskers 16-14.
Following a P.J. Smith interception on Georgia’s opening drive, the Huskers were forced to punt and Brett Maher had his kicked blocked out the back of the end zone for a safety.
Georgia scored on their next possession on a 29 yard touchdown pass from Aaron Murray to tight end Arthur Lynch, putting the Bulldogs up 9-0.
Nebraska answered on their following drive with Taylor Martinez finding Jamaal Turner in the end zone for a 14 yard touchdown. NU went up 14-9 when Will Compton picked off Murray for a 24 yard pick six.
Georgia answered immediately with a 75 yard touchdown pass from Murray to Tavarres King.
