A man out of prison for five days is back behind bars. An Omaha police officer on patrol saw a car run a red light at 50th and Center Street around 12:30 Wednesday morning. The officer then saw the car cross the center line and nearly strike another police cruiser.
The driver did pull over and police noticed signs of intoxication. After running a check Officers found out 36 year old Daniel Cano was driving on a revoked license and had seven prior DUI offenses. Cano’s blood alcohol level tested at .317, nearly four times the legal limit to operate a motor vehicle.
He was booked for is 8th DUI offense, felony driving under suspension and failure to maintain lane.
Cano had just been released from prison on January 11th.
