A second man has been arrested and charged in the shooting death of a man found by a newspaper carrier at the side of a rural Lancaster County road just outside Lincoln.
Officials with the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force report that 20-year-old Adrian Casares was arrested in San Antonio without incident.
Authorities say Casares fled Nebraska with his girlfriend, 26-year-old Tiffany Zerley, after the shooting of 26-year-old Tyler Schoenrock.
23-year-old Miguel Castillo had been arrested shortly after the shooting in late December. Court documents disclose Casares and Castillo got into an argument with Schoenrock at a Lincoln apartment. The documents allege Casares pulled a gun on Schoenrock and called him a “snitch”. They further allege the two ordered Schoenrock into a car, drove him to a rural area outside Lincoln and shot him.
The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force reports that Casares is a known member of the “East Side Locos” gang with an extensive criminal history, including assault and narcotics.
