A well known Omaha philanthropist is sentenced to two years probation. Cookie Hoberman was charged with motor vehicle homicide after an accident last May in west Omaha that killed 44 year old Jeffrey Ahl. A judge also revoked Hoberman’s driver’s license for an unspecified amount of time.
The victim’s mother, Sandy Ahl attended today’s sentencing and stated that Hoberman did not intentionally set out to hurt her son and is glad she was not sentenced to jail time however, she shouldn’t have been behind the wheel.
69 year old Hoberman was driving on a restricted license because of poor vision.
