U-S Nebraska Senator Mike Johanns says the Keystone XL pipeline will bring economic growth to Nebraska and the rest of the nation. He says this will also increase our energy supply from a friendly neighbor. He says there are often complaints about spending billions of dollars with people that don’t support the U-S and Canada has been a close ally and this project makes sense.
Senator Johanns fought against the first route planned through Nebraska as it went through the Sand Hills and the Ogallala Aquifer. He is pleased the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality approved the alternate route and that Governor Heineman signed off on it.
Senator Johanns says he will now do his part on Capitol Hill to get the project moving.
