Put away the ice fishing hut.
Nebraska Game and Parks Commission spokesman Greg Wagner says anglers believe the last ice of the year is usually the most successful for fishing but the most dangerous. This warning comes after two ATV riders fell through thin ice at Cottonwood Lake in Cherry County. Both riders were able to swim to safety.
Wagner says this warning hold true for those who ice skate and play hockey on ponds and lakes. Move those activities to an indoor rink.
