State troopers seized nearly 20 pounds of marijuana during two separate traffic stops on I-80.
The Nebraska State Patrol reports a trooper stopped a car near the Lincoln Airport Exit during the early morning hours Sunday for following too close. A drug dog led to the search of a locked tote in the trunk of the car that contained eight pounds of marijuana tucked into 14 packages.
40-year-old Nicholas Van Gorden of Denver, CO has been charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver. He is incarcerated in the Lancaster County jail.
Later that afternoon, near Aurora in Hamilton County, a trooper stopped an eastbound car for speeding. A drug dog indicated the car contained drugs. The trooper found about 10 ½ pounds of marijuana in two locked footlockers in the trunk of the car.
40-year-old Michael Fenili of Fresno, CA has been charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver. He is incarcerated in the Hamilton County jail.
