A 19-2 run midway through the second half helped Creighton to an 80-62 road win on Wednesday night at Bradley. Creighton improved to 23-7 on the season and 12-5 in Missouri Valley Conference play. Combined with Wichita State’s loss to Evansville, Creighton can win its first outright MVC regular-season title since 2001-02 on Saturday with a victory in a 1 pm game vs. the Shockers.
Creighton rode the back of All-American Doug McDermott in the first half. He scored Creighton’s first eight points and had 16 of the club’s 32 by halftime. He also drew eight Bradley fouls on the other end as CU reached the bonus at the 13:28 mark.
Creighton created some breathing room with a 19-2 run early in the second half.
Creighton closes the regular-season on Saturday with a 1:05 pm game vs. Wichita State.
