Are you ready for some football? The Nebraska football team began its 2013 spring practice season Saturday afternoon, as the Huskers practiced in the Hawks Championship Center and the outside practice field for just over two hours in shorts and helmets. “It was a good first day, I just told the team I thought we did a lot of good things and we have a lot of things to learn from.” Bo Pelini said, “I thought the attitude was good, the tempo was good, a lot of things to coach and get better from.”
After losing eight seniors on the defensive side of the ball, the Huskers are expected to have a fairly inexperienced defense during the 2013 season, but Pelini believes the players will respond well to the new playing responsibilities.
“I have been in this situation before, our guys have a base, they were in meetings all last year and they went through a fall camp, so it is not like they are starting from day-one.”
The Huskers will be back on the practice field on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday next week for their first full week of spring ball. Continue to check back to Huskers.com throughout the spring for all your spring football updates.
