James Parrett and Ben Imig scored 25 and 24 points respectively to lead Midland to a 76-71 overtime win against York on Friday morning at the NAIA, Division II men’s basketball tournament in Point Lookout, MO. Midland recovered from a poor start that saw the Warriors shoot just 36% in the first half. They trailed York by only 32-28 at the break. In a game that featured eight ties and nine lead changes, it had to be decided in overtime. Midland outscored York 12-7 in the extra five minutes, holding York without a field goal for the final 2:39 of OT.
Thaddeus Varmall, who led York to their first ever NAIA tourney win on Wednesday, scored 26 points.
Midland University will play the winner of William Penn vs Bethel at 1PM Saturday March 9th
