Doug McDermott scored 25 points and nine rebounds, and Creighton reached the final of the Missouri Valley Conference tournament with a 64-43 victory over Indiana State on Saturday at Scottrade Arena in St. Louis, Mo.
McDermott was 6 of 7 from 3-point range, and 8 of 10 overall, for the Bluejays (26-7), who opened the game on an 11-2 run and later scored 18 unanswered points en route to a 41-18 halftime lead.
Gregory Echenique added 10 points on 5-of-6 shooting for Creighton, which shot 61.5 percent from the floor in the first half and 53.5 percent overall.
Creighton, the top seed in the tournament, will most likely face Wichita State in the finals on Sunday. The Shockers jumped out to a 15-0 lead on Illinois State.
