It may be a bit cold today to think about spring planting but it is never too early to start planning. For those who want to add a tree or two to their landscaping, Omaha Public Power District is giving away two-thousand trees.
Vice President Tim Burke says they serve more than 784-thousand customers in 13 Nebraska counties and they can go on-line and order a Norway Spruce, Ohio Buckeye, Swamp White Oak or Eastern Redbud.
Burke says properly placed trees can improve energy efficiency by providing windbreaks in the winter and shade in the summer. Details are available on their website at oppd.com.
