The Nebraska baseball team dropped an extra-inning affair Tuesday night, as No. 8 Cal State Fullerton pulled out an 8-7 win on a bases loaded walk in the bottom of the 11th inning. It was a game that featured four lead changes and three ties as each team answered the other’s rally. The Huskers led 4-0 and 5-4 and then rallied to tie the game at 7-7 in the eighth.
Austin Kingsolver was hit by a pitch to start the bottom of the 11th and eventually moved to third following an intentional walk to Michael Lorenzen to load the bases with one out. NU reliever Josh Roeder got a pop up for the second out, but Jared Deacon drew a walk on a full count to score the winner.
Michael Pritchard and Rich Sanguinetti each had three hits to lead the Huskers to a season-high 14 hits, while Kingsolver led the Titans with three hits and Lorenzen produced three RBIs.
The Huskers wrap up their series with the Titans tonight, then open Big Ten play at Illinois on Friday.
