Omaha Police Chief Todd Schmaderer is talking about the investigation into accusations of excessive force that was caught on video last week.
Schmaderer says extra internal investigators are now on the case. One Omaha police officer involved is temporarily reassigned while the investigation is underway. This stems from an incident Thursday evening at 33rd and Seward Streets in Omaha.
Police were impounding vehicles with expired license plate tags when 28 year old Octavious Johnson pulled up and police say started an argument. Johnson was arrested as well as another brother, 23 year old Jauquez Johnson. Police chased the younger Johnson into a house. A resident and aunt of the men arrested says she was injured when officers entered the house and she ended up falling out of her wheelchair.
The incident was videotaped and posted on YouTube.
