The 19th-ranked Nebraska softball team won in its final at bat for the seventh time this season, scoring once in the top of the seventh inning of a 3-2 victory over Iowa on Sunday afternoon. With two outs, Gabby Banda reached on an error. Following a walk to Taylor Edwards, Brooke Thomason hit a hard ground ball down the first base line and Brianna Luna had the ball deflect off her glove and into right field, allowing Banda to score from second with the go-ahead run.
The win clinched a series victory over the Hawkeyes, while also wrapping up a 5-2 road trip for the Huskers. Nebraska has now won 11 road games this season. The Huskers improved to 28-8 on the year and 6-2 in league play. Iowa fell to 22-15 with the loss and 2-7 in conference play.
