Nebraska U-S Senator Mike Johanns says while people are enjoying the cherry blossoms in Washington DC, he is keeping close tabs on the severe weather that plagued Nebraska this past week. He says while we needed the moisture Nebraskans did not need a snowstorm or severe thunderstorms that brought damaging hail.
Senator Johanns says Nebraska has once again received USDA disaster declaration due to the ongoing drought. When disaster programs are funded, Nebraska producers may have access to those programs.
Senator Johanns continues to be hopeful for passage of a new Farm Bill soon. In the meantime, Senator Johanns says we will continue to pray for rain.
