Sidney-based Cabela’s is releasing a glowing financial report, in addition to plans for adding two more retail stores.
The company says its first quarter financials showed a total revenue increase of over 28%, surpassing $802 million.
Cabela’s CEO Tommy Millner said, “First quarter results exceeded our expectations on every line of the income statement. In addition to expected increases in firearms and ammunition sales, we saw particularly strong performance in soft goods and footwear.”
The outdoor outfitter also announced plans to add a pair of retail stores to the Cabela’s family, a 100,000 square-foot store just outside of Portland, Oregon and a 50,000 square-foot location in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
Those stores are expected to open in 2014.
