The papers were signed this morning making it official. Omaha will host the 2016 U-S Olympic Swim Trials for a third time. Mike Unger is the Assistant Executive Director with USA Swimming and says there Omaha has a proven record with the trials. There is now a history with Omaha and city treats them very well.
He says the more comfortable the athletes are with a venue the better. He says the athletes are comfortable with the venue and know the routine. The athletes themselves endorsed Omaha and Century Link Center. Unger says the flow of the building is great for the athletes and the spectators as well.
Omaha beat out San Antonio and St. Louis who were also bidding for the event. Omaha hosted the trials in 2008 and 2012.
